Guaranteed Success with Goals

Guaranteed Success with Goals

I’m going to save you about $5,000 right now!!! I spent a lot of money working with a coach learning about setting goals. It all comes down to this simple guide. When you put this into action, your success is virtually guaranteed.

It’s no secret that setting goals and actually writing them down is a very profitable thing to do. A famous study tracked the success of a college graduating class for 20 years. At graduation time, 3% of the class had written down their goals. At the end of the 20 years, the 3% had earned more money than all the other 97% COMBINED!! Did you hear that…….. 3% earned more than the 97% combined!!

Ok, I really don’t care why this is true, I only care that it is true. So instead of analyzing why this is, I suggest you start writing down some goals.

The key question here is …… are you going to be part of 97% or the 3%?

I guarantee you don’t have to wonder which group I am in…..

Here is a great step by step guide for implementing this strategy.

1.

Claim specifically what it is that you desire. Sit down with a mentor, coach, or successful friend and “mastermind” what it is that you want to accomplish….. your goals. The key here is to be very specific, crystal clear, about exactly what you want. Also, if the goal is more than one thing, make sure you write down the priority of them, you know, which is the most important.

2.

Put it on paper!! There is something magical about this step of the process. When you commit to it on paper, it turns abstract thought processes into concrete proof. You now have a tangible item, not a figment of your imagination. It’s like having a real horse ready to pull a plow versus a unicorn.

3.

Decide when it will be reached. You must write down specifically when your goal will be reached or completed. Not having a specific time written down would be like a NASCAR race without a finish line. Without a very specific finish line, it’s human nature to delay, “piddle around” and accomplish little, if anything.

4.

Make an ACTION List. Write down specifically what you are going to have to do to achieve your goal. As new actions come to mind, add them to this written list. This list is your road map to the finish line. It’s critical that you actually write down.

5.

Chart out the Action List. Write out a specific time line for the action item, i.e. when it will be done, which ones need to be done first. This “organization list” is critical. If you do this, and you will out perform by 5 or 10 fold those that don’t. The mind is a great place to think of things, but a terrible place to store things.

6.

Put it in to action right now!! I don’t care what you do, but do something right now. Even a “so so” action plan that is “animalistically” put into action is better than a spectacular plan that is never executed.

7.

Promise yourself and commit on paper to take some action each day, every day, always!! A walk across the country starts with the first step, and then continuing those steps every day. Time block this “committed action” into your daily schedule. For example, call 5 new prospects or referral partners every day…..period. Allow nothing to get in the way of this activity….. NOTHING. You must do this every day, every day, every day….. No exceptions.

Work Sheet

1. __________________________________________________________.

Sit down with a mentor, coach, or successful friend and “_______________” what it is that you want to accomplish….. your goals. The key here is to ___________________________________________________________ Also, if the goal is ____________________, make sure you write down the _________________ of them, which is the most important.

2. Put it ______________________.

There is something magical about this step of the process. When you ________________________, it turns ___________________________ into

concrete proof. You now have a __________________, not a ______________. It’s like having a horse ready to pull a plow VS a unicorn.

3. Decide ________________________

.

You must have written down specifically ______________________________.

4. Make an _____________________.

6. Put it ___________________________!!

Even a “so so” action plan that is _________________________________ is better than a spectacular plan that is ___________________________________.

7. Promise yourself and ____________________________________________________________ always!!

You can have a dream life. Just simply commit to it. If you fall and skin your knees, get back up and do it again. Never give up. This determination will rocket you at warp speed towards your finish line. You cannot have long term failure by exercising this strategy
